BLACKBIRD FOUNTPEN made in USA during War?

Post by Pensaro » January 8th, 2021, 12:20 pm

Looking for information regarding a Blackbird BCHR Eye-Dropper pen. The barrel imprint is:
Blackbird MT&Co. New York USA - Made in USA during War - is this the 1914-18 War?.
This pen is fitted with a gold nib engraved with a SWAN motif with the following imprint:
BLACKBIRD 'K' 14C-585 ENGLAND. I suspect that this is not original to this particular pen?. :)

During World War I, Mabie Todd's British manufacturing activity was devoted to munitions production, retro bowl while the related company in the United States supplied stockpiles of Swan and Blackbird pens to the British market.

The Blackbird pen company was based in New York City and was active in the early 20th century. They produced a range of pens, including fountain pens, during the First World War (1914-1918). It is possible that the "War" referred to in the barrel imprint is indeed the First World War.

The Blackbird BCHR Eye-Dropper pen you mentioned appears to be a vintage pen with some interesting details. Based on the barrel imprint wordle mentioning "Made in USA during War," it is likely referring to the pen being made during World War I (1914-1918). However, without further information or additional historical context, it is challenging to pinpoint the exact manufacturing period.

The Blackbird BCHR Eye-Dropper is a type of fountain pen made by Blackbird Pens. "BCHR" stands for "Black Chased Hard Rubber," which refers to the material used to make the pen's barrel and cap. aa route planner

"Blackbird MT&Co. New York USA - Made in USA during War"
The imprint on the barrel indicates that the pen was made in the United States during a war. However, without more specific information, it is difficult to determine heardle whether the war referred to is the World War I (1914-1918) or another conflict. Further research or additional details may be needed to establish the exact timeframe.

Early in the 20th century, the New York City-based Blackbird Pen Company operated. Throughout the First World War (1914–1918), a variety of pens, including fountain pens, were made. The First World War might indeed be the "War" that the barrel impression alludes to. tunnel rush
