Comparing nib sizes of M600 with M800

Post by miner » April 26th, 2012, 10:03 pm

I have my eyes set on a M805, black with silver trimmings. But I need some advice for the selection of the nib, because I will have to buy it via the internet as my local store does not carry Pelikan.

How does the size/width of the nib of an M800 it compare to the M600? I find the M600 medium too wide for my everyday use, so I use the Fine even though I would have liked i just a fraction wider.

Would the M800 nibs be the same width as the M600?

Thanks!

Hello,

The nibs and feeds from M3xx, M8xx, and M10xx are each unique to themselves. The M800 feed has a bigger diameter as the M600. Sorry the news is not better.

Would the M800 nibs be the same width as the M600?
No, I think it is not so. Each model have nibs of different width.

Best regards
Werner

Do you know if the M800 fine nib is wider than the M600?
That would be absolutely fine, I am just concerned that it would be narrower...

Hello,

in my opinion all modern nibs are wider than the nibs in vintage fountain pens with the same declaration. The best way to get a nib you like it, is to test it at a store with different writing test equipment or at a pen show.

Best regards

The M600 is the largest pen available with a 14k nib, whereas the wordle ... Both size and weight are noticeably different compared to the M600.

I think the quality of these two nibs are very good and are used by many people.

I must also admit that they are the best quality pens I have ever known.
