New tipping on Souverans

Hello

Just wondering if Pelikan's decision to adopt the Kugel, ball-shaped, tipping on its nibs is here to stay.

Like many, I find these points to be far less pleasant to use than the earlier, subtly-chisel-shaped ones, though I can understand why Pelikan decided to do it.

Still, it has sort of spoilt Pelikan for me.

Just wish to register my agreement. I'd like to see more, not fewer, nib choices. Round and chisel, and dare we hope for a return of the slightly stubbish nibs of the late 1980s?

Hello,

First of all, I would like to welcome you to the Penxchange-Club.
I am also interested in this topic.
We all know your fundamental knowledge in Pelikan pens and nibs.
Many thanks for your comment.

Best regards
Werner

Last month I changed my new M1000's nib from Medium(M) to Oblique Broad(OB) by sending it to Hannover. while checking the returned pen , I am confused because it doesn't give the feel of writing with a Italic bold nib & surprisingly found that the nib is round @ the tip. Doesn't know why Pelikan people do this to their nib, while the Oblique medium(OM) of my Montblanc No:149 still writes smoothly with a flattened shaped tip. Please check with the photos I attached.

Just want to say that I agree. Instead of fewer nib options, I'd rather to see more. Dare we expect for a comeback of the slightly stumpy nibs from the late 1980s? Round and chiseled? geometry dash

Companies like Pelikan occasionally change their product designs based on factors such as market trends, customer preferences, manufacturing considerations, and technological advancements. Introducing new nib designs, like the ball-shaped tipping you mentioned, could be an attempt to offer a different writing experience or to address specific issues.
