This initial step establishes your primary vault for digital holdings. Immediately after generating your credentials, record the secret phrase on durable, physical media. Store this backup separately from your primary devices; a fireproof safe offers reliable protection. This phrase is the singular key to reinstating access, rendering its security non-negotiable.

Connect your vault to decentralized finance protocols to generate yield. Platforms like Aave or Compound allow you to supply assets, earning interest directly. For network security participation, platforms such as Lido facilitate token delegation without requiring specialized hardware. Monitor reward rates and protocol health metrics regularly, as these figures fluctuate based on network demand and total value locked.

Interact with decentralized applications directly from your interface. Before authorizing any transaction, verify the contract address against the project's official communications. Adjust gas fee settings manually during network congestion to control costs. Revoke token approvals for applications you no longer use; this limits exposure from potential smart contract vulnerabilities.

Should you lose device access, your secret phrase is the sole recovery mechanism. Navigate to the official application portal and select the option to restore access. Input your twelve or twenty-four-word phrase in the exact sequence. This process generates a new interface instance, fully replicating your previous address, transaction history, and asset permissions. Test this restoration procedure with a small asset balance to confirm your backup's accuracy before committing significant value.

Ambire Wallet Setup, Staking, DApps, and Account Recovery Guide

Generate your login credentials directly within the vault's interface, opting for a strong, unique password and securely storing the generated seed phrase offline; this initial step is irreversible and foundational for all subsequent operations.

Once your portfolio is active, you can immediately allocate idle ETH or stablecoins to integrated yield protocols like Aave or Compound directly from the main interface, bypassing separate website visits and enabling automated interest accrual without manual intervention.

The vault aggregates DeFi tools, allowing interaction with platforms such as Uniswap or Curve through a single transaction batch, which bundles and executes multiple actions–like approving a token and swapping it–simultaneously, drastically reducing gas fees.

Should you lose access, the restoration process relies solely on your initial seed phrase; input it on a trusted device to regenerate your private keys and transaction history, as no central authority can reset your credentials.

Regularly review and adjust your automated transaction batching rules and delegated asset allocations to match market conditions, ensuring your financial strategy remains optimized within the non-custodial environment you control.

Installing the Ambire Wallet and Creating Your First Account

Navigate directly to the official browser extension store for your preferred platform–Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons–to install the authentic extension; this prevents phishing.

After adding the extension, launch it. You will be presented with a critical initial choice:Generate a new seed phrase (12 words).Import an existing one using the "I already have a wallet" option. For a fresh start, always select to create a new one.

Write the displayed twelve-word mnemonic on physical paper, store it securely offline, and confirm it by selecting the words in the correct sequence. This phrase is the absolute master key to your funds and identity on the network; digital copies (screenshots, cloud notes) dramatically increase theft risk.

Finally, establish a strong password for encrypting the local vault data. This password, required each time you access the extension from this device, protects the stored information but does not replace your seed phrase. Complete this step, and your primary vault is ready for transactions.

Q&A:
I installed Ambire Wallet and have my seed phrase. What's the absolute first thing I should do before putting any crypto in it?

Your first step is to verify you can successfully recover your account using the seed phrase. Do this immediately after setup. In the wallet, log out or use the "Add Existing Account" feature. Choose "Recover with Seed Phrase" and carefully enter your 12 or 24-word phrase. If it restores access to the exact same wallet address, your backup is correct. Only then should you deposit funds. This simple test prevents a catastrophic situation where you think you have a backup, but a misplaced word makes it invalid.

How does staking work directly in the wallet? Do I need to use a separate dApp?

Ambire integrates staking directly into its interface for certain networks and tokens. You don't always need a separate dApp. For example, you can often stake native tokens like MATIC or ETH directly from the wallet's dashboard if you're on a supported network. The process is similar to a swap: you select the asset, choose a staking provider or pool listed within Ambire, and confirm the transaction. The wallet handles the interaction with the staking contract. For less common tokens or specific protocols, you might use the wallet's built-in dApp browser to [https://extension-web3.com/ambire.php connect ambire wallet to dapp] to external staking sites like Lido or Aave, but the connection and signing happen securely within Ambire.

I heard about social recovery. If I lose my seed phrase, can my friends just get my money back for me?

No, it doesn't work like that. Social recovery in Ambire is a preventive measure, not a way for friends to access your funds. You set it up in advance. You designate specific, trusted wallet addresses (from friends or other devices you own) as "guardians." If you lose access to your main wallet, you can initiate a recovery request. A majority of your guardians must then approve this request from their wallets. Only after this approval is your wallet's control transferred to a new address you specify. Your guardians never see your seed phrase or have direct access to your assets; they only vote on allowing you to move your account to a new key.

Is there a gas fee for every action in the wallet, like setting up social recovery or staking?

Yes, almost every on-chain interaction requires a gas fee, paid in the native currency of the network you're using. Setting up social recovery involves sending transactions to add guardians, which costs gas. Staking involves contract interactions that also require gas. Even approving a token for use (an "approval" transaction) before staking or swapping has a gas cost. Ambire's gas estimation tool helps you see the cost before confirming. The exception is viewing your balance or using the portfolio tracker—these are read-only actions and don't need a transaction, so they're free.

What happens if I use the dApp browser and connect to a malicious website?

Ambire's interface can warn you about known dangerous sites, but security ultimately relies on your judgment. If you connect and sign a malicious transaction, the scam site can drain the assets that transaction approves. Ambire's transaction simulation helps by showing the expected outcome of any transaction before you sign. Always check this simulation carefully. If it shows an unexpected token transfer to an unknown address, cancel immediately. For maximum safety, use the dApp browser only for well-known, verified protocols. Your wallet itself cannot be hacked through a connection, but your approved funds can be stolen if you sign a bad request.

I installed Ambire and transferred some funds, but I don't see a "Stake" button. How do I actually start staking?

Staking in Ambire Wallet is done through integrated decentralized applications (dapps), not a direct built-in button. Here's the process: First, ensure your wallet is funded with a token that can be staked, like MATIC or ADA. Then, navigate to the "Browser" or "Dapps" section within the Ambire app. From there, you need to connect to a specific staking dapp, such as Lido for stETH or a Polygon staking validator. You will connect your Ambire wallet to that dapp's website interface. The dapp will then show you the staking options and interface. This method gives you access to many different staking services from one wallet, but requires interacting with the third-party dapp's own interface for the actual staking transaction.
