About Great Ocean road places to stay

Hello Guys,
Only if you really think about beaches?! We have detailed information about Apollo Bay

If there’s one drive that really gets the blood pumping, it would have to be the famous Great Ocean Road. This remarkable highway was constructed by soldiers coming home from war — and I reckon it’s best tackled with a sense of curiosity, a solid layer of sunscreen, and some good tunes to keep you company. I’ve lost count of how often I’ve driven this road — sometimes on tour duties with Wildlife Tours, other times travelling on my own and moving at whale-watching speed — and yet each stretch of road still finds a way to impress.

There’s never a boring moment on the Great Ocean Road. The highway snakes along past towering rainforest gullies, rugged coastal cliffs and some of the most iconic surf beaches around that have hosted countless epic wipeouts. Whether you’re planning a quick one-day Great Ocean Road tour or settling in for a multi-day adventure, this route is best enjoyed at an easy pace. Stop regularly, have a yarn with the locals, and sample a pie at every roadside stop that claims to serve the best in Victoria.

Before you load up the car, it’s worth locking in the basics. The road stretches close to 243km, from Torquay down to Allansford, and for most of that distance it follows the ocean. Along the way, you’ll roll through well-known seaside towns like Lorne, Apollo Bay and Port Campbell, plus off-road turn-offs into thick bushland and waterfalls that are just waiting to be found
