LOL contests feature 2 staffs of five players, each taking up the identity of a different dream personality, called a 'champion', as they work together to take out their enemies' foundation. Gamers travel around the in-game map handling other obstacles to reinforce their personalities in front of experiences along with the various other group, providing the activity a slow-slow-quick pattern along with military interludes separating frantic time periods of on-screen activity.
