Spanish flair with the new Pelikan Toledo

Post by werner » August 25th, 2010, 2:44 pm

Hello All,

here a description and a picture also from the new Pelikan Toledo M 710 yellow.

Best regards
Wener

As a Special Edition, Pelikan launches the traditional model Toledo in autumn 2010 in a bright yellow color.

The art of working with Damascus steel goes back thousands of years. It means that steel or iron objects are decorated by engraving a pattern into the surface. In the year 1931 Pelikan adopted this technique for the Toledo model with so much success that the design has remained virtually unchanged throughout the years.

Today the decorative sleeve is made of one piece in Sterling Silver. It is treated carefully in various different steps until the motive is covered with a layer of palladium to obtain a silver sheen that will not dull with times.

Every Toledo fountain pen is a unique piece made in Germany because the tiny engravings in the motif are made by hand, making each Pelikan feather come alive. Due to the high amount of work, a maximum of 200 pieces can be created each month. The clip and the rings are palladium plated. This fountain pen is delivered in a Toledo gift box.

The nib is made of 18 carat gold with a rhodium trim and an iridium grain. It is available in the sizes EF, F, M and B.

The striking gold colour of the pen cap creates a striking visual effect, contrasting beautifully with the sterling silver body engraved with the intricate Toledo motif. This colour combination is both classic PolyTrack and modern.

Great discussion about vintage pens! Really appreciate the detailed restoration tips shared here. As a collector, I found the advice about nib adjustment particularly useful. Would love to see more posts like this! gamepad tester

Wow, that Pelikan Toledo M 710 yellow is stunning! The Damascus steel work is truly impressive. Makes me think of mastering difficult levels, like perfecting the slopes in Snow Rider 3D. The dedication to crafting each pen by hand is incredible; it's like striving for a high score. This pen feels like a reward for skill and precision.
