I´ve got a Pelikan 520 NN.
I´ve been told that it´s from 1957-1963 but another person tells me that 520 NN has been reproduced in the 90´s.
How can I see if I´ve got an older version or a new?
520 NN, new or old?

Hello johanf,
thank you first for visiting our German (and of course Austrian and Swiss) forum.
I have checked the old lists and there is no doubt:
the 520 NN, fully rolled gold, has been produced from 1957 to 1963.
From 1973 to 1978 a new series of NN pens had been produced by Merz & Krell for Pelikan. The colors: black/green, brown/tortoise shell and in all black.
So: Congratulations, you have a wonderful and very special version of the famous Pelikan fountain pen line.
Best regards

520NN
HI !
I guess, the person how told you, that there are modern 520NN pens, was thinking about the Pelikan M760 - a gold plated pen made in 1988 as a jubilee edition (150 Years Pelikan).
This pen shows the shape of a Pelikan M400 (or similar to the old Modell 400). The surface pattern is not as nice as the guilloche of the original pen. The main aspect is, that the 520NN has a very different shape than the M760, because the cap and the thread is much more rounded.
Please refere to the article :
"400-400N-400NN" which explains all the differences !
