Danke.

I am puzzled.
I have seen a lot of pictures on eBay of not just Pelikan but also other brands like MontBlanc and Geha with small hole/s on it. I wish I can take a picture and post here for you to look at. It's a small round hole maybe about 1mm radius. At first I thought it's a breather hole, but as you said they are not a common thing. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Thanks

That's only partly right. Normally you don't need the vent hole, because the capillaries of the ink feed equalise pressure if you fly, the other reason is that the cap is not sealed enough to need an extra hole (ex. MB 149).
These holes are common to Rollerballs and Fineliners.
There are some fountain pens with a small hole, usually under the clip (or the clip goes inside the FP). There you'll notice that the cap fits so tight and is so sealed that you wouldn't get the cap on the FP if there wouldn't be a hole in the cap...
But this is not common. I saw this only on cheaper pens.
bendahara, could you post a pic ?

Some pens have holes
Hi,
Some fountain pens have hidden holes like the modern Parkers. Some fountain pens on the other hand have no holes like the Pelikan M200. I got a demonstrator and there are no holes in the cap, not even hidden ones. Does the hole look like it has been drilled? Or is the hole nice looking?
