"I had mixed feelings about it simply due to the price and my inclination towards the more expensive Pens of the Year I've began collecting. Raluca at the Faber Castell shop in Stein opened one up for me to try before I purchased (everything was 25% off when paired with 12 euro tour they offer -- it made it even more convincing for me to make the purchase.
The Bloom is fantastic in the hand. The grip section is basically identical to the Classic series and the tapering from barrel to grip doesn't bother me the way I thought it would. I even tried screwing it into the other, which works Despite the extra girth, the weight is nearly identical to the Classic uncapped. The only difference is in the cap and nib. The nib, now 14k on the Bloom has no breather hole and has slightly different shoulder profile and tine length. The tipping on the medium I bought is generous and has a sublime feel -- it is smooth and offers just a tiny hint of feedback on my preferred Leuchtturm and Clairefontaine papers. So far, I've only had Cognac Brown in it, but it's fantastic out of the gate.
Cap wise, I love the new inner rubber ring lining the cap about 2 mm in from the edge. It softens the capping experience before the click and isn't as harsh as the snap caps on the Intuition series. I also believe the inner rubber cushioning ring serves as a proper air seal, and doubles to prevent any cap wobble or friction that may otherwise damage the barrels. There is no overlap here, unlike the Intuition.
My only gripe is the pen takes much longer to clean, particularly the cap, due to the fluted surface. My natural hand oils collect in the groves much more easily than the Classic GvFC caps. It's minor, but makes photos more difficult."
